Push the Boat Out

Edinburgh’s international poetry festival.

Push the Boat Out is a vibrant and polyphonic platform for poetry, spoken word, visual art and poetry, and live music. It’s a festival which celebrates poetry in all its myriad forms, provoking questions around what poetry is, what it can do, and how this vibrant artform is in constant and unique dialogue with others arts, culture, and heritage.

As PTBO’s Programme Manager in 2022, I programmed a three-day festival to include events and activities like such as a raucous Cocktail Hour which combined live poetry and cocktail mixing, a beach walk along Portobello Beach with Roger Robinson, and a Development Day session for professional and emerging poets.

As of early 2024, I have reboarded the good ship PTBO as its Creative Producer.
